Subnautica 2 Metal Farms: Production Troubleshooting
Check Metal Farm power, production and timing against official fixes and read the recipe in your own build.
A stalled Metal Farm and a missing crafting ingredient are different problems. Start by checking whether you are trying to unlock or build the farm, or whether an already built farm is failing to produce. This page focuses on the production problems actually documented by Unknown Worlds.
Power and timing problems in older builds
The Buddy System update on August 19 fixed several Metal Farm issues: production despite a no-power indication, loss of power in chained farms after the first finished, operation after moving out of power range, and a resource-swap exploit that inherited the previous resource’s growth time.
Those fixes explain why an old video can show behavior that does not represent the current system. They do not establish a universal yield or growth-time formula.
What to check before reporting a stall
Our suggested record has four parts: the selected resource, the visible power state, the order in which linked farms finish, and whether any farm was moved or its resource changed. Compare the visible output before and after loading the save. If the output and power label disagree, capture both in the same clip.
Mangalloy recipe and Axum culture limits
Read the Mangalloy and Metal Farm recipe in your own current build before spending scarce ingredients.
The base materials planner can total quantities you enter from that recipe. It supplies arithmetic only; it does not insert a recipe borrowed from the original Subnautica. For location evidence, read the Root Canyon notes.
